AnyOne agree that PvP (FreeMode) is ruined because of GunRunning. I just Retired my Crew.

I loved sniping with my Crew but I'm done plus I also liked to go in a Hydra and attack high level modders and what not and now I can't even do that.... I can't sell my Hydra and Rhino tank either so that fucking sucks. I would say I spent about 700 $ or above on Shark cards on this game maybe even more and I know competitive will still be competitive but Free Mode is ruined now. Does anyone else feel this way? I miss strafe sniping (Right index finger on x button, right thumb on right analog stick, and right middle finger on r2) as every time I try to do so I get exploded now.

It certainly isn't the same. But I'm not done free roam killing yet. The poor have it the hardest by not being able to afford the new weapons, ammo, and armorment. Making them easier prey than before. The jets aren't useless yet but they have been dealt a big blow by variety of ways to take them down overnight. If you enjoy killing ppl in jets now is the time to Pioneer methods to defeat these new threats. But they are more vulnerable than they were two weeks ago.
This update discourages infantry style fighting and encourages crew served vehicles. I'm a infantryman and a buzzard pilot. So I'm having to learn new ways of attack. In my opinion it's not ruined but it has changed and peppered with new opportunities.
For example the new rocket bike can take you from rooftop to rooftop using the new sniper rifle and a thermal scope to rain down terror on foot soldiers and rockets on machinery. Or if you want the dominating experience of jets shitting explosive bullets directly on top of ppl heads and listen to their helpless rage. Get a rocket apc and start chasing poor fucks that are on foot. If they blow you up by luck they get charged for it! Trollol mf.

I never used Hydras aggressively but I know those that did (and knew what they were doing) would always stay right on top of their enemy, circling high up before swooping in from directly above.
It struck me when checking out the new hardware that nothing provided in this update looks up very high. I'd say this is the Hydra's only saving grace. Everything, including the heavy sniper is restricted to a max of about 60°(?) aiming .
Most pilots will be feeling hard hit but the circling vultures from the vertical I suspect can still hurt.

Disclaimer : This all went on in my head, not in testing. I may well be wrong.

A pvp is ruined the moment you realise your opponent is a littl' shirker who will bitch out when they can't put up a fight on even terms so they either spam explosives or retreat to their own little evade spots such as property, yacht or just use passive mode while ready to attempt to kill you when you are the least on guard.

But it defiantly helps when you got crew mates. If you come to learn the pros and cons of every op vehicle then work as a team to take the bastard out. Then, when you done so, all gang bang on him/her and continue to kill them until they leave, retreat and if they attempt to get another op vehicle you do the same thing again.

I wish I had the willpower I'm going to get my friend back into GTA V it's been a Few weeks since I've played but I actually posted in the Content Creator because I found a hidden gem of a video that I forgot I made as well and that sort of is inspiring me to start playing again.

In my opinion passive mode is the pussy way out of situations. I hate peeps that come out of passive kill you then go back into passive so you cant kill them it kind of ruins the gaming experience and pisses me off.
Now the new update has its advantages and i dont agree with all of them, as hydras use to rule the sky now its that crazy unrealistic motorcycle that flys and has what seems to be unlimited rockets. I think the new apc and air defense weapons are a nice addition and some of the new weapons. The new thermal scope makes a sniper rifle a beast if your into sniping. The new tampa i guess its the tampa with mini guns on the roof is ok because you can run solo and dont need a co operator.
To end this reply alot of peeps think there good and talk the talk but refuse to come to free aim lobbies which proves you suck because they rely on auto aim.
Lastly, I wish peeps would put down the rpgs and explosives pick up a gun and put there skills to use but instead you get blown up every minute. That's why i like free aim tdms with Ars only...
Rockstar please do away with passive mode....

They should get rid of easy way out as well or at least put a limit on it. Too many cheap fukin players take the dicklord route and use this within the middle of a firefight the moment they take even the slightest amount of damage. There's no limitations on these cheap ass moves that make pvp a load of shit.

As for the passive mode. Ffs rockstar, whose dumbass idea was it to make you invulnerable to everything on next gen the moment they go in passive mode? Now we have fuk nuggets rolling around in passive the moment they get killed from someone THEY attacked so they can get a cheap grab of the hydra. RS don't even have the respect to put an indication when people exit passive. Rockstar probs know this shitty problem but keep it in, in hopes people will buy sharkcards out of frustration.

And too the peps that say ewo and passive are perfectly fine, gtfo. You know just as well as everyone else the problems with it. Just because YOU use it the way it should be used, doesn't mean everyone else does. Damn, if people wish to keep it in so desperately, lets at least have a public lobby option where passive mode is disabled and ewo can only be used once every 15 minutes or so. Oh, and no cops as well, I want to do pvp with players, not infinity spawning cops that fuk with your aim and cause you to take tactics that get you fuk'ed in the arse by the other player because the cops couldn't screw off and leave you to it.

Just to throw my oar in, maybe if they just had passive sessions? Then everyone can skip around being lovely to each other in their no-hitbox fantasy land.

I've only ever gone passive once and that was when I was like Lvl 3 and the prompt told me to. My crew never start shit with randoms but we really f*ck up people that just grief the weak or start trouble for no reason. Passive mode is just a way of saying "You didn't win, therefore I didn't lose".

Regarding PVP tho, I know what you mean about the seriously OP GR weapons but they do tend to balance the game against the OP stuff from the last DLC (Hydra, Insurgent, Kuruma). It's swings and roundabouts really, every MMO that has a DLC update will piss on someones chips but when the dust settles things tend to balance themselves out.

It's a shame you've retired your crew tho dude, strength in numbers can defeat any enemy :)

EDIT: Does two weeks count as necro? Hmmm....

My old crew (56th And Elizabeth) had like 296 members and still does I just gave the ownership rights to someone named Jovanisky. Then I gave up ownership rights to the sister crew (56th And San Andreas) to my good friend SlimRazor25 on PS4 but he sold his GTA V. o_O

It's always easy to think right when something changes that it's a disaster and nothing else will ever be the same and you can never play again. But changes like these have always happened and will continue to happen until GTA 6 is released and GTA Online is still a fun, active and functional game so please don't despair immediately after every update and give it a try I'm sure it's just as great as before.

The online experience depends on whether you play alone, if you play in a crew, depends on what kind crew , by invitation that group more united members, or open, that groups randoms, that it's the same than play alone.
I am VP of Skeleton Crew MC, and our behavior is always being together, we do not use Hydras or military vehicles, we have a strict code of 1%.
All our members protect each other, we only attack if we are provoked, pmc crews (who now have more weapons) we dominate them very easily, without using the new elements in the game. What I see more annoying is the modders.

Agree with the above sentiment; strength in numbers and communication amongst players will always beat OP trolls, Hydratards, Shark Card Trust Funders etc.

It's also a good way of rooting out cheaters; one guy destroyed a medium crate sale when the entire lobby was SOPO, so we went to teach him a lesson. Turns out he had God-mode and all weapons at Lvl17. You know you get GTA$4million for reporting cheaters right?

Jus waiting on the cheque ;)

I would love to see how a pvp would turn out if passive mode, easy way out, cops and hydras were removed. Most hydra spammers suck ass in ground pvp, the cops are just a pain in the ass in pvp and passive mode Plus ewo are self explanatory.

I always thought EWO should count as a death towards KD, that would be the easiest fix. Also not sure why there isn't a longer timer on passive mode so people cant go in and out. These are simple issues that R refuses to address for whatever reason.

It's be nice if anyone who abused ewo or passive would automatically be given herpes
